Laurie MacLaren

Laurie joined Material as Chief Operating Officer in May 2022. In her role, she oversees all aspects of the company’s internal operations, focusing on business enablement and people experience. A highly collaborative leader, Laurie has deep expertise in bringing together cross-functional teams at rapidly growing and evolving companies to drive success for clients while improving the employee experience.

Before joining Material, Laurie served as COO and Interim CEO at Ansira, a marketing technology and services company focusing on customer experiences. Prior to that, Laurie spent 20 years with Sapient, a digital business transformation marketing and technology consulting company with more than 13,000 employees across North America, Europe, and Asia. Laurie served as Sapient’s COO, overseeing all global operations including financial operations, human resources, and information technology. She led Sapient’s integration into Publicis Groupe after its acquisition of Sapient in 2015.

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. An avid Boston sports fan, Laurie lives in Massachusetts with her husband and their dog.
