LRW Strengthens Position in Communities with Acquisition of Tonic Insight

New York – LRW (Lieberman Research Worldwide) announced today that it has completed the purchase of Tonic, a leader in online insight communities with offices in London and NYC. The company, which will be now be named LRWTonic, has been using digital technologies to help deliver their research consulting services to clients since 2008.

Dave Sackman, Chairman and CEO of LRW, said, “We are pleased to welcome Tonic’s team of world-class marketing and research consultants to the LRW team. The addition of Tonic to our business expands our ability to deliver ‘so what?®’ insights at speed for our clients. Until now, clients have been limited in what they can achieve with market research communities, being forced to choose between partners with either a technology or consultancy specialty. We believe with Tonic’s unparalleled expertise paired with LRW’s icanmakeitbetter.com’s leading-edge community platform, our customers no longer need to make those tough trade-offs.”

This is the second in LRW’s planned series of acquisitions supported with growth capital from Tailwind Capital Partners, in pursuit of LRW’s vision to become the leading global, integrated analytics and marketing consulting company in a quickly evolving insights and market research space.

Nick Priestley, who will continue serving as the General Manager of the company, said, “We’re very excited about joining LRW. They’re a growth-oriented company committed to delivering business impact to their clients. We see a great opportunity to work with some of the best minds in the business, further enhance our community offering, and increase our global reach.” Priestley and the current management team will continue on in their current roles at LRWTonic, with the exception of former Tonic Chairman Stephen Phillips, who will focus his energies on his other business ventures. Phillips commented, “The team we have built at Tonic are a great group of researchers and now they will get the chance to shine on a bigger stage. We wanted to find a partner with a great culture and focus on innovation and who would enable Tonic to reach its potential and in LRW we couldn’t have found a better fit.”
